Ten Things To See In Nashville, Tennessee

We’re already getting excited about our trip to Nashville for AdvisorCon 2019! With a thriving nightlife and a myriad of specialty museums, Nashville is an exciting American destination city. Because there’s so much to see and do, we made a list of our favorites; most of which are near the Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites, our official conference hotel. With the weather looking to be a high of 72 and a low of 52, we can’t wait!

1. Hear the famous “Nashville sound” at the Country Music Hall of Fame

1.1 mi from the hotel – 6 min drive or 20 min walk
Admission: $25-$30

Nashville, aka Music City, USA, is the heart of American country music history, with one of the largest museums in the world dedicated to this American art. The Country Music Hall of Fame is also home to the Historic RCA Studio B, where artists such as Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton and Waylon Jennings once recorded their most signature songs. Often referred to as the “Smithsonian of country music”, it boasts two floors housing over 2 million artifacts.

2. Iconic Music Venue: Station Inn

0.3 mi from the hotel – 6 min walk
Admission: $12-$15

If you want a real, untouched “spirit of Nashville” venue, look no further than the Station Inn. This is an intimate space to experience live bluegrass, blues, roots and Americana music. Word on the street is to be sure to get dinner first, as this venue is a bar, not a dinner spot. For only a $12-$15 cover, you can expect one of the best nights of your Nashville experience.

3. Catch a show at the Grand Ole Opry

9.5 mi from the hotel – 20 min drive
 Admission: $55

This is Nashville’s #1 attraction! You’ve heard of this historic concert hall where many stars began their careers.  Catching a show here is an opportunity to experience the live-radio show that made country music popular. Shows happen almost every night and feature a variety of eight or more artists. If you’re a big country fan, stay through Saturday, May 18th and catch Old Medicine Crow headlining that night’s show!

4. Get a reservation at The Chef and I on Ninth

0.1 mi from the hotel – 2 min walk
$30- $200 per person

“A little bit gourmet and a little bit rock and roll”

This is a dining experience not to miss. Make reservations for the counter seating where the chefs prepare your meal right in front of you. Don’t think this is just an entertainment gimmick. Fresh ingredients are locally sourced, and critics rave about this restaurant’s delicious American cuisine. Try the chef’s tasting menu with wine pairings for the full experience. Special diets are welcome. As a bonus, this restaurant is right around the corner from the hotel.

5. Live the high life at Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse

2.0 mi from the hotel – 10 min drive
$45-$125 per person

If you would prefer a more traditional dining experience, this is the top-rated steakhouse in Nashville, renowned as much for its service as for its incredible cuisine. In true Nashville fashion, expect live nightly entertainment with dinner service. Special diets are welcome here as well.

6. Hit the Green at VinnyLinks Golf Course

3.6 mi from the hotel – 11 min drive
Green Fees: 9-Hole $7

Vinny is a nine-hole, 1210-yard, par three course perfect for working on your fundamentals and short game. Positioned alongside the Cumberland River, enjoy immaculate greens in a beautiful setting. This course is walking only, so plan on some comfortable shoes if golf is on your agenda.

7. See rare and unusual cars at the Lane Motor Museum

3 mi from the hotel – 15 min drive
Admission $3-$12

If you’re interested in collectible cars, historical cars, or motorcycles, you cannot miss this! This museum has the largest collection of European cars and motorcycles in the United States. They feature historical Harleys, flying firsts, and buoyant boat-cars. During the dates of AdvisorCon 2019, you can also catch the special feature Eureka! Innovative Ideas That Were Ahead of Their Time.

8.  Take a pub tour with The Brewery Hop

Hop on The Brewery Hop bus and get familiar with over twenty of Nashville’s finest craft brewery watering holes. This bus loops around continuously, hitting each stop once an hour, so you can get on and off where ever you like. Best of all, you’re not required to stick with the group like your average pub-crawl. From the Fairfield Inn, you can board the bus at either Jackalope Brewing Company (0.2 mi away) or Yazoo Brewing Company.

9. Catch Nashville SC going toe to toe with Charlotte Independence

2 mi from the hotel – 10 min
