General FAQs
What is AdvisorCon?
AdvisorCon is Bill Good Marketing’s annual conference for financial advisors and their teams. It’s two days of practice-management strategy from advisors who are growing faster and working fewer hours, covering everything from prospecting to succession. 2027 marks the 50th anniversary.
When is AdvisorCon 2027?
AdvisorCon 2027 takes place May 13 and 14, 2027 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Where is AdvisorCon 2027 held?
At The Grand America Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. This year the venue and the host hotel are the same building, so your room and the sessions are under one roof.
Who should attend AdvisorCon?
Financial advisors, firm owners, and the staff who keep a practice running, including client-service, operations, and marketing team members. Whether it’s your first AdvisorCon or your tenth, there are sessions built for you.
What is this year's theme?
Building a business that lasts. Every session ties back to one of six areas: brand, prospecting, operations, team, client service, and succession.
Tickets & Pricing
Do I need to be a BGM client to attend AdvisorCon?
No. AdvisorCon is open to any financial advisor or team, whether or not you’re on the BGM System. First-timers get a working overview of the whole system along with the specific tactics advisors are using to grow now, so it’s a great place to start.
Does my advisor need to attend for me to attend?
No. Staff are welcome on their own, with sessions built specifically for client-service, operations, and marketing team members. That said, we highly recommend coming together when you can. Teams that attend together leave on the same page, with a shared vision and the same playbook to run back home.
Can I transfer my ticket to another advisor on my team if I can't make it?
Yes. If you can’t attend, your ticket transfers to a colleague at no charge. The details are outlined in our refund policy.
How much does AdvisorCon cost?
There are three ticket types: Financial Advisor + Staff, Financial Advisor, and Staff. Our First 50 discount is open now at the lowest rate of the year, and prices go up as the event gets closer. See current pricing for every ticket type on the ticket page.
How do I register for AdvisorCon 2027?
Head to the ticket page, pick your ticket type, and check out. The sooner you register, the lower the price and the better your pick of hotel rooms in our block. If at any point you’re unable to get your ticket online feel free to call our office at 888-495-7303.
What is the First 50 discount?
It’s our lowest price of the year, and a nod to the 50th anniversary. Register early to be one of the “First 50” before prices step up. You’ll find it on the ticket page.
What's included in my ticket?
Both days of keynote sessions and Q&A panels; the 50th anniversary cocktail party; and breakfast, lunch, and coffee both days. You can review what each ticket includes on the ticket page.
Can I bring my team, or get a group rate?
Yes. AdvisorCon is built for teams, and the Financial Advisor + Staff ticket is priced to bring one team member along for less than two separate tickets. Compare ticket options on the ticket page, or call the team at 888-495-7303 about pricing for larger groups.
When is the best time to buy?
Now. The First 50 discount is the lowest price we offer, and rates rise as the event approaches. Lock in your seat on the ticket page before the next price increase!
What is your refund and cancellation policy?
If you can’t make it, your seat transfers to a colleague at no charge. Full terms are listed here:
Hotel & Travel
Where should I stay?
Right at the venue. We’ve reserved a block of rooms at The Grand America at a discounted conference rate, so your room and the sessions are under one roof. Rooms in the block are first-come, first-served, so book early. You can learn more about the group rate by visiting our Hotel & Venue page.
How do I book my hotel?
Use our group rate link to book your room at The Grand America at the discounted conference rate: book your room here. Rooms in the block are first-come, first-served, so booking early gets you the best rate and your pick of rooms.
How do I get to the venue from the airport?
Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is about 7 miles from The Grand America, roughly a 12-minute drive by car, rideshare, or transit. SLC is a major Delta hub with nonstop service to nearly 100 cities, so most teams have a short, direct trip.
Which airport should I fly into?
Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). It’s the closest airport to the venue and one of the easiest big-city airports in the country to get in and out of. More on flights and getting here is on the travel page.
I'm coming from Canada. What do I need?
Just your passport for entry into the U.S. Air Canada and other carriers serve SLC, so the trip is straightforward. Check your passport expiration early and book your flight ahead for the best rate.
How far is the hotel from downtown?
The Grand America is downtown. Temple Square, City Creek Center, and plenty of restaurants are a short walk away, with the airport about ten minutes out.
What is there to do in Salt Lake City?
More than people expect, and most of it is close. Temple Square and downtown dining are walkable, and the mountains and canyons are about thirty minutes away if you want to fit in a hike. The travel page has our full guide to the city, from food to the outdoors.
Should I rent a car?
You don’t need one for the conference itself, since the hotel, sessions, and downtown are all walkable. A car is worth it only if you plan to head into the mountains or extend your trip. See the travel page for ideas on making a longer trip of it.
Can I extend my stay and explore Utah?
Absolutely. Salt Lake City puts national parks, canyons, and ski country within reach, and it’s a great place to add a few days on either side of the conference. The travel page is a good starting point.
Miscellaneous
Will Bill be attending AdvisorCon 2027?
Yes. It’s the 50th anniversary of the company he built, so of course he’ll be there! It’s a rare chance to hear from Bill in person and to raise a glass with him at the anniversary cocktail party. Bring your favorite Bill story. 😊
Are breakfast and lunch served at AdvisorCon?
Yes, both breakfast and lunch are served on both days, along with coffee and snacks to keep you going.
Is AdvisorCon recorded?
Yes. We record the entire event, and the recordings are included in your ticket price, so you can revisit sessions afterward or share them with the rest of your team.
Can I record the event myself?
No. Personal recording is distracting to the speakers and the people around you. Since we record everything and include the recordings with your ticket, you’ll have every session to go back to without having to capture it yourself.
